MLB 2012 Playoffs: Yankees take on Orioles as Nationals go against Cardinals
MLB 2012 playoffs schedule takes the competition into the second phase of the best-of-five games between the Cardinals and Nationals in the NLDS and Yankees and Orioles continue their collision in an ALDS game. MLB playoffs schedule is later set to explode with the upcoming games of the baseball season.
The National League Division series witnesses the Washington Nationals with a hope to consolidate their lead against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Nationals secured the first blood on Sunday afternoon with a 3-2 victory. The Cardinals will be looking to equal the playing mound by winning the second game, as it will hard to take three games at Washington. If the Cardinals win, then the five-match series will be reduced to a three match series in the MLB 2012 playoffs.
The Cardinals take the mound against the right-hander Jordan Zimmerman, while the Nationals take a start against the left-hander Jaime Garcia. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:37 p.m. ET with the game airing on TBS. Zimmermann’s home/road splits fare well for this game as his road ERA (2.36) is more than a run lower than his home ERA (3.54) on the season while Garcia gets the nod before Chris Carpenter by the virtue of him throwing better at home.
In the American League Division series, the Yankees take on the Orioles after taking the first leg by 7-2. The second game is a must-win for the Orioles if they have to stay alive in the MLB playoffs. The Game 2 will see two lefties taking the mound to upset their rivals.
The Orioles face Andy Pettitte, who has limited game experience against the Orioles while the Yankees go against Wei-Yin Chen, who has four starts against the Yankees this season. Chen has never made a post season start as this is his rookie American season at the MLB 2012. The first pitch starts at 8:07 p.m. ET in Baltimore.
