NBA trade rumors: Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs
NBA trade rumors suggest that Josh Smith might be traded after all before the deadline. The Atlanta Hawks power forward has been the subject of constant speculations of a trade with Phoenix Suns. The Suns have reportedly created a package for an exchange trade of Smith, which includes center Marcin Gortat, shooting guard Jared Dudley and a possible first-round pick.
Gortat is averaging 11.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game while Dudley averages 11.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest. Both the players are under contract with the Suns, so the trade might not be a problem. With Suns wanting to rebuild their team, it will be interesting to see, who will be the first-round pick in the package.
Josh Smith will become a unrestricted free agent after this season, so the Suns might need to convince him to stay after his contract expires. Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly looking at options for Derrick Williams before the deadline comes to an end. Point guards, Luke Ridnour and J.J. Barea are also reported to be on the trade floor.
San Antonio Spurs have reportedly entered the bidding process of Orlando Magic shooting guard, J.J. Redick. Spurs would benefit with the trade of Redick, who is averaging 15.2 points and 4.4 assists in 31.6 minutes per contest this season, which are the shooting guard’s best statistics of his career.
The Spurs are placed fourth in the NBA in three-point percentage and with the addition of Redick they might just excel on the floor making it difficult for the other teams.
