Los Angeles Lakers NBA trade news and rumours: Johnson-Odom
Big trade announcement for Los Angeles Lakers fans today, who awake to news that rookie guard Darius Johnson-Odom has joined from Dallas on draft.
The trade was announced this morning although the full details have yet to be disclosed, the Lakers keeping the contractual agreements of the deal under wraps for the time being.
New NBA addition Johnson-Odom was the 55th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the 6-2 guard from Marquette will be looking to add to his career record of 15.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 105 games.
In other NBA news the LA Lakers, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and fellow franchises will soon be international household names now that a deal has been nailed with Eurovision, the production and distribution arm of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
The NBA will work in partnership with the Eurovision network to circulate its content, including the live 2012/13 basketball schedule and its 24-hour channel NBA TV, around the world.
The two organizations will link up to connect the NBA’s media hub, NBA Entertainment in New Jersey, to the Eurovision New York bureau and its technical operations headquarters in Washington DC.
As one of the perks of the arrangement, Eurovision will be given consent to make promotional use of NBA branding, including team logos.
“This agreement with the NBA further strengthens Eurovision’s position as the key partner in transmission services for the world’s biggest, most prestigious sports federations,” said Stefan Kuerten, a spokesperson for Eurovision.
“Live sports transmissions are a keystone of our business, and we are honoured that the NBA wants Eurovision to transmit their coverage around the world.”
