Miami Heat make another signing in today’s NBA transfer news roundup

Plenty of deals brokered this week in the NBA and rumours to boot, the busiest franchises being Heat and Hawks although Knicks are lurking in the background with intent to snap up more stars for their title challenging side.

Starting with Miami Heat latest news, the NBA outfit signed center Josh Harrellson earlier this week, who previously appeared in 94 games over three seasons at Kentucky, averaging 4.7 points and 4.7 rebounds.

Harrellson, a 6-foot-10 powerhouse, played 37 games as a rookie for the New York Knicks in 2011/12, averaging 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds, his season-high was 18 points against Charlotte and a 14-point, 12-rebound effort versus Sacramento.

Knicks fans will have seen Harrellson in action when he starred in all five playoff games against the Heat, where he scored 10 points and earned eight rebounds in just under 25 minutes during that series.

Meanwhile in Atlanta, fans awake to news that NBA forward Ivan Johnson has resigned for the Hawks, following undrafted rookie stint last season.

Johnson, 28, led the team by making 51.3% of his shots from the field and ranked fourth in rebounds, such displays cementing his position as the NBA’s rookie of the month for April.

Also featuring in today’s NBA news transfer schedule are the Ney York Knicks, with one guaranteed roster spot available, the team are said to be scouting for a final piece of the puzzle to see them content for the championship.

Reports link the Knicks with unrestricted free agent power forward Kenyon Martin, who would be offered the veteran’s minimum salary if he chose to join.
